Addendum 8.2.a
to 8.2 Casting the Horoscope
The House Systems
A Variation of Systems
The procedure described above is valid for all current House systems. The four quadrants of the horoscope are established by projecting the points where the Meridian and the Horizon intersect with the Ecliptic, onto the plane of the Prime Vertical.
Differences between House systems arise only later in the process, when the further division of each of the quadrants into three parts each is being determined. In part, these differences have to do with how the time and place factors are worked out. This topic is extensively discussed in the Syllabus Astrotechniek * (a Dutch publication).
Even though the exact border values of the Houses may differ from one system to another, the projection procedure essentially remains the same because it is always based on anchoring the position circles in the North and South points on the Horizon.
In order to determine the identity of the horoscope within analogical thinking, this last point is what concerns us most here.
